NST Suck's Big Time

NST is a media and newspaper controlled by government yet it influent reader in negatives thoughts on malaysian athletics.

Here the posted on NST front page on 2008/08/19:

In the global sense, we are hopeless in football, meek in athletics, frustrating in rhythmic gymnastics, hockey, cycling and swimming, weaklings in rugby, uncultured in cricket, and overall, nowhere in the ranks of the global sports domination. Our sporting culture is as alive as plain cow’s grass and our parents would rather pressure their children to mug in maths, science, ballet and piano classes, rather than let them loose and happy in the playground and sporting fields.
(WHAT ABOUT BADMINTON, WE ARE IN THOMAS CUP QUALIFICATION)

Yet, we have a full time Minister and a Ministry (WHAT THE MINISTRY DO?) lording over a slew of sporting associations where only a handful flourishes (MOSTLY HAVING A GOOD TIME ENJOYING GOVERNMENT SALARY AND ALLOWANCE).

Compare that to the United States, with its mega athletes winning, no…make that ‘manufacturing’, gold medals, don’t even need to have a Cabinet Minister for sports. But they do have a highly energised, multi-discipline sprawling sporting culture that rewards successful athletes into overnight multimillionaires (Carl Lewis, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods and now Michael Phelps)(What does malaysian good at? Try asking european to compete in CUP PRIX)(We are so good at it. Because malaysian are born to be REMPIT).

For goodness sakes, the Americans have professional anglers (PLEASE COMPARE OUR FOOTBALLER TO THOSE IN EUROPEAN CUP)NONE is discipline enough!(that’s fancy fishing for you and me) earning millions in prize money and endorsements!(I FANCY THIS TOO)

We were so lucky we have Lee Chong Wei in the men's single for badminton play off.
Now live with that. He deserve every cents that the government present to him.

So NST should be boycott by malaysian reader. Do not read this newpaper.
